Associate Professor of Statistics

Research: Research mainly in the fields of industrial and health statistics, resulting in more than 60 publications in scientific journals (among others, Journal of Quality Technology/2, European Journal of Operational Research/1, Statistics in Medicine/1, Biometrical Journal/1, Journal of Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry/1, Quality Technology and Quantitative Management/2, Journal of Multivariate Analysis/1, Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics/2). His research interests are related mainly to Statistical Processes Monitoring (SPM), Multivariate SPM and integration of industrial statistics’ methods in healthcare for patient and public health monitoring.
Teaching: His teaching at the University of Piraeus involves “Statistics” in the “Department of Industrial Management and Technology”, “Statistics” in the “Department of Economics” and “Introduction to Statistics and Probability”, “Statistical Quality Control”, “Statistical Computing”, “Multivariate Statistics”, “Biostatistics” and “Non-Parametric Statistics” in the “Department of Statistics and Insurance Science” as well as “Business Analytics”, “Biostatistics” and “Statistical Quality Control” in a post-graduate level in the “Department of Statistics and Insurance Science” and “Business Analytics” in the “Executives MBA” in the “Department of Business Administration”.

He has been a member of the faculty of the Hellenic Open University for nine years, teaching “industrial statistics” in the “Quality Management and Technology” postgraduate program. This postgraduate program aims to provide participants with an integrated specialization in quality management and technology, so as to meet employment needs in industries, and to train engineers and other technicians who perform quality control in industries, health care and other services.
